MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – The attitude to potential investors in the Minsk Oblast should change, Minsk Oblast Governor Boris Batura told media on 25 June. Only more efforts poured into attracting private business can increase the investments the Minsk Oblast receives by 30-40%. The Minsk Oblast is attractive as the central region of the country, believes the Governor. “Some steps have been made to this effect. A council has been set up to promote entrepreneurship. Strict instructions have been issued to heads of regional administrations, services to change approaches to investors,” said Boris Batura. In his words, the share of private business in the oblast’s GDP may reach 50% while at present it is as low as 20-21%. Boris Batura also mentioned the support, which is available to businessmen. Innovation funds are available to support private initiative, the state budget provides loans to create jobs and so on. In 2011 the size of financial support is supposed to at least double. Boris Batura also said that work is in progress to set up a technological cluster in the town of Smolevichi and there should be more nurseries for small businesses. БЕЛТА
