MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast welcomes the participants of the Paris-Moscow 2010 Cycling Marathon, BelTA learnt from the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee. The cyclists will pass by Kletsk and Nesvizh today. In Nesvizh – Belarus’ tourist Mecca – the guests will visit the Nesvizh Castle, the town hall, the catholic cathedral church and meet with representatives of state, public, and sports organizations, and war veterans. The participants of the marathon will then proceed to other towns of Minsk Oblast, like Gorodeya, Stolbtsy, Dzerzhinsk, Zhodino, and Borisov. They will visit the Yakub Kolas museum in Akinchitsy, the Khatyn Memorial and a monument to the mother-patriot in Zhodino, and other places of interest. The marathon is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Europe’s liberation from the Nazis. The participants of the marathon arrived in Belarus from Poland on 6 August. They have already been to Brest, Kobrin, Drogichin, Ivanovo, Pinsk, and Gantsevichi. They will also tour Domzheritsy, the Berezino reserve, Lepel, Beshenkovichi, Vitebsk and Liozno. A solemn meeting is to be traditionally held in Minsk on Victory Square. The 5th cycling marathon is held by the Bike for Peace organization. The 4,000 km marathon started in Paris on 4 July. It will finish in Moscow on 27 August. БЕЛТА
