MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – The Minsk Oblast Executive Committee has plans to sign three investment agreements and a protocol of intent at the Belarus Investment Forum in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, BelTA learnt from Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Yelena Sushkevich. The Minsk Oblast has plans to sign an investment agreement on the turnkey construction of an outpatient clinic of Minsk Oblast Teaching Hospital with a Heart Center for 900 visits per shift in the village of Lesnoy (AJZ Engineering GmbH), a wind farm in Logoisk District (TDF Ecotech). An investment agreement is to be concluded with Danone-Unimilk to set up an export-based enterprise to produce milk preserves and cheese. A protocol of intent will be concluded with Convex International and WM-Kartoffeltechnik with a view to establishing cooperation with Minoblagroservis in the production of potato harvesting machines. Minsk Oblast will present a project to construct a transportation and logistics center and a whey processing plant. The project is estimated at $20 million and over ?80 million respectively. The transportation and logistics center is to be located in the town of Rakov, Volozhin District, the whey processing plant is to be constructed in Nesvizh. The Minsk Oblast has prepared promotion products on the investment opportunities of the region, including booklets, videos, etc. In January-September, $113.8 million were invested in the Minsk Oblast economy. Foreign investors put their money primarily into the manufacturing industry (43%), including machine-building and metalwork, and trade and public catering (24%). The transport infrastructure is being improved. The major foreign investors in the Minsk Oblast are Russia (27% of all foreign investments), Cyprus (13.5%), Switzerland (11.6%), Latvia (10.4%), Germany (8.2%), and Great Britain (8.1%). There are 818 companies in Minsk Oblast with a share of foreign investments, including over 480 joint ventures and 337 foreign-owned companies. In the oblast there are 87 companies with a share of German capital. The enterprise Henkel-Bautechnik that manufactures composites and primer paints, the enterprise Guhring-Bel that specializes in resharpening axial metal-cutting tools and applying wear-resistant coating are successful examples of German investments. Aided by the Belarusian government, the Belarus Investment Forum will take place in Frankfurt am Main on 17 November 2010 as part of the Euro Finance Week. БЕЛТА
