MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast is interested in joint agricultural projects with Israel, said Governor of Minsk Oblast Boris Batura as he met with Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Shalom Simhon on 2 December. The governor named milk production, export of dairy products (cheese, milk powder, butter, etc.) and fish breeding among the promising avenues of cooperation with israeli. The Belarusian specialists apply Israeli technologies while constructing a number of facilities in the Minsk region. For instance, a turkey meat manufacturing complex is about to start operating in the village of Olekhnovichi, Molodechno District. The sides are in talks over setting up a similar facility in Zaslavl. The two countries have agreed to build a seed-production complex in Luban District. On 1 December Shalom Simhon took part in the opening of a battery farm for raising broilers at the Dzerzhinsky agricultural company. “We are committed to mutually beneficial cooperation with Israel, and we would like to intensify it,” Boris Batura said. He believes the two countries do not exploit the potential of trade and economic cooperation in full. The sides can boost their interaction in trade, investments and other areas. Shalom Simhon, in turn, confirmed the commitment to intensify agricultural interaction and added that Israel is interested in projects in Minsk Oblast as the central region of Belarus. БЕЛТА
