MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) - In 2011 Minsk Oblast will implement 34 innovation projects worth Br820 billion, BelTA learnt from the economy committee of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee. Minsk Oblast is set to raise over $1 billion in foreign investment. The list of investors features Golf Club, M-Standard, Nordalfa, InterStroiPortalPlus" Dubrovenskoye Company, etc. Work is underway to establish a Chinese industrial zone which will employ Chinese technology and equipment. The industrial park in Smolevichi will soon be put into operation too. In Pukhovichi District Morozprodukt is to build a plant to produce ice cream (Br12 billion worth of investment). Avgust-Bel will invest in expanding the production of plant protection products. Setton plans to develop the processing of wild-growing products. In accordance with the logistics system development program of Belarus, Minsk Oblast launched 12 of the 16 planned projects and already utilized more than $20 million worth of investment. The Obchak distribution and logistics center located in the Minsk Free Economic Zone is expected to come on stream in the first half of 2011. The facilities to be commissioned next year also include the first startup complex of the transportation and logistics center in Rakov, Volozhin District (more than $12 million worth of investment) and the first startup complex of the Prilesie transport and service complex (investment worth $150 million), etc. Attracting investments in the districts, including foreign direct investments, is one of the 2011 priorities for Minsk Oblast. It is assumed to attract more investments in material production and infrastructure development of the districts, the economy committee stressed. Investments in agriculture will be funneled into creation of efficient and environmentally-friendly food production technologies, reconstruction and revamping of high-tech raw processing enterprises. Horticultural and milk processing plants will be also infused with new technologies. A number of investment projects will be carried out at the poultry factories of the region, namely the 1st Minsk poultry factory (Br71.5 billion), Smolevichi broiler poultry factory (Br39.5 billion). About $120 million of foreign investments will be allocated to build six new hog-breeding complexes in Borisov, Volozhin, Minsk, Lyuban, Soligorsk and Slutsk districts. Modernization of Minsk Oblast industrial giants, such as Belaruskali, BelAZ, etc., as well as public utility companies is in progress. БЕЛТА
