MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast of Belarus intends to attract $1 billion in foreign direct investments in 2011, Minsk Oblast Governor Boris Batura told media on 13 May. It is the target the Belarusian government set for Minsk Oblast. In Q1 2011 Minsk Oblast attracted around $20 million. Propped by signed investment agreements (around 250, including 50 agreements involving foreign investors), calculations indicate that Minsk Oblast should be able to reach the goal, said Boris Batura. Among the major investment projects involving foreign investments is the construction of a major logistics center in Rakov, a transportation and logistics center Prilesie and others. The group of companies Amkodor has declared large volumes of investments, including foreign ones. Bought by a Belarusian-Italian limited liability company, the Kopyl-based factory of reinforced concrete products will be commissioned in 2011. It will manufacture dairy farm assembly frames, with the output capacity to build 20-25 dairy farms per annum. The enterprise intends to supply assembly frames for ten farms by the end of the year. Boris Batura said that private enterprises like Coswick and Henkel Bautechnik that had been recently visited by the Belarus President are quite vigorously set up in Minsk Oblast. There are such enterprises in virtually every district. БЕЛТА
