ASTANA, 22 November (BelTA-Kazinform) – The extended meeting of the committee for international relations, defense and security of the Parliament of Kazakhstan discussed a draft law “On ratification of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on cooperation in civil defense, prevention and relief of emergency situations”. According to Emergencies Vice Minister Valery Petrov, the agreement signed in Minsk on 10 June 2009 is aimed at developing a legal framework for cooperation in emergency response between Kazakhstan and Belarus, their joint actions in emergency situations. Valery Petrov noted that the effort would provide better security shield for the two countries and assist further development and improvement of the emergency response and rescue resources. БЕЛТА
