In 2008, Belarus and Lithuania are set to increase trade to EUR 1 billion. Last year the trade was around $1 billion, Vice-Minister of Economy of Lithuania Vitautas Nauduzhas told reporters on May 21.
According to him, promising cooperation areas are energy, construction tourism. In his opinion, most efficient interaction can be established in the energy area.
An increase in trade will be also boosted by cooperation in environmental protection. Important is also the interaction between the regions of Belarus and Lithuania (medium and small towns). Lithuania is also ready to take part in the development of trade business and construction of real estate in Belarus.
