MINSK, 10 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian men’s artistic gymnastics team is gearing up for their last chance to qualify for the London 2012 Games at the London 2012 Gymnastics test event on 10-18 January, BelTA has learnt. Belarusians will compete with the teams from France, Great Britain, Spain, Canada, Brazil, Puerto-Rico and Italy. According to the official website of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association, Belarus will be presented by seven athletes at the test event: Andrei Likhovitsky, Dmitry Kasperovich, Alexander Tsarevich, Pavel Bulavsky, Artyom Bykov, Vasily Mikhalitsyn and Alexander Demchikhin. To get an Olympic license, a team should place at least fourth. In case of bad luck, a country has a right for one individual license. Belarusian gymnast Anastasia Marachkovskaya will compete for an Olympic individual license. The Belarusian women’s artistic team lost their chances for the Olympic license at the world championships in 2010. The forthcoming tournament in London will make up the final qualifying stage for the Olympics 2012. At the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Tokyo 2011 Belarus ranked 16th winning the right to continue the competition for Olympic licenses at the supreme moment. On 12 January Belarusian trampoliners Vyacheslav Model and Nikolai Kazak will take part in the London trampoline qualification event on 12 January. БЕЛТА
