MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Turkmenistan have coordinated terms for the implementation of new joint projects. The relevant negotiations took place during a working visit of the Belarusian governmental delegation lead by PM Mikhail Myasnikovich to Turkmenistan on 16-17 January, BelTA learnt from the Premier’s spokeswoman Olga Dolgaya. During the visit Mikhail Myasnikovich met with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan to discuss possible expansion of bilateral cooperation. “Turkmenistan considered the issues of opening construction companies similar to those operating in Belarus. These are companies of large-panel earthquake-proof house-building, producers of precast concrete, heat insulators, light-gouge construction, ceramic tiles and others,” the spokesperson said. Besides, Belarusian constructors will implement a pilot upgrading project at the Turkmen residential area developed in the 1960-70s. Belavtodor will take part in a tender to construct a bridge across the Amu Darya River. The two sides also talked over the supplies of Belarusian equipment to Turkmenistan. This country tends to purchase 2,000 Belarusian tractors and nearly 3,000 MAZ vehicles this year. There has been taken a decision to open four MAZ maintenance stations in Turkmenistan. Belarus will continue to supply Turkmenistan with its tower cranes and elevators. A Belarusian-Turkmen college will be opened to train specialists for the new companies. Turkmen professionals will be able to gain working experience in Belarus. According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, “cooperation should be innovative, promising and large-scale”. The two countries have big prospects in innovative cooperation. The Belarusian head of government stressed that Belarus and Turkmenistan need to set up new production capacities and implement sci-tech projects. Mikhail Myasnikovich said that “the two countries have a good outlook for further bilateral cooperation.” “Belarus and Turkmenistan should set up productions to export to third countries. The two economies are complementary,” the PM added. БЕЛТА
