SAINT PETERSBURG, 30 May (BelTA) – The forthcoming visit of President of Russia Vladimir Putin to Minsk will be a prominent response to those critics, who claim that Russia does not need Belarus and that Belarus is not an equal partner for Russia. The opinion was voiced by Sergei Kizima, Head of the International Relations Chair of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Belarus, who took part in the research to practice conference “Topical problems of Union State development” in Saint Petersburg on 30 May. Sergei Kizima said: “If after assuming office the president of Russia chooses to visit Belarus instead of the USA or some other country, it unambiguously indicates that our country is an important partner for Russia in the global geopolitical game”. According to Sergei Kizima, at present Belarus and Russia are in the phase of decisive progressive advance of relations. “We understand each other better and better. We treat sensitive issues delicately,” said the expert. “It is truly integration, with Russia starting to treat interests of Belarus with attention”. БЕЛТА
