MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) – Bellakt has not received any official documents notifying of the suspension of its imports to Ukraine, BelTA learnt from the company. “We did not receive any official document on the suspension of the import of our products to Ukraine,” said Alexander Mikheenko, the company's deputy director general for commerce. The company will give more specific explanations after relevant studies. According to news agencies, Ukraine has temporarily suspended the import of all products of animal origin made by Volkovysk-based Bellakt. This ban was issued by Chief State Inspector for Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine. Following the analysis carried out by the Kiev State Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary-Sanitary Examination, Bellakt products of animal origin (powdered milk for infants Bellakt 2 Bifido) were found as non-complaint with microbiological indicators. Founded in 1970, Bellakt was reincorporated in 1995. Today it is one of the largest producers of dried baby food among the former Soviet Union countries. The company can process up to 700 tonnes of milk per day (255,000 tonnes per year). The company operates a quality management system according to the ISO 9001-2009 standard, a HACCP quality management and food safety system. Occupational health and safety management system is in compliance with the STB 18001-2005 standards. БЕЛТА
