MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – The possibility of setting up a joint venture to make Belarusian harvesters at premises of the factory that makes Russian agricultural machines under the Yenisei brand in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk is worth considering. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made the statement at the press conference held for representatives of Russian regional mass media on 16 October, BelTA has learned. It is possible to create a joint venture in Siberia similar to the one that operates in Kuznetsk Basin where BelAZ mine dump trucks are assembled and are used, believes Alexander Lukashenko. He underlined that Belarus would benefit from the project because it would give an additional market in the Russian region. The Russian side would benefit from new jobs and tax revenues. Alexander Lukashenko pointed out the high performance of Gomselmash harvesters. Some Gomselmash harvesters now boast the output of 20kg of grain per second while the output of Yenisei harvesters is only 4-5kg per second. The Belarus President also suggested the Russian side should choose the best harvester Gomselmash makes and start manufacturing it together in Krasnoyarsk. The Belarusian head of state accepted criticism of the Russian side regarding the terms of the leasing of Belarusian agricultural machines. In Krasnoyarsk Territory leasing schemes span five years while the Belarusian scheme spans three years. Due to the fact the Belarusian side has lost the market in Siberia and yields to foreign companies that offer more beneficial leasing terms, the Russian side believes. Alexander Lukashenko gave instructions to examine the matter. “I will ask the President Administration to analyze the issue,” he said. He stressed that some things on the market have to be sacrificed. БЕЛТА
