NEW DELHI, 14 November (BelTA) – Belarus and India have signed a package of cooperation documents during the working visit of the government delegation of Belarus to India. The delegation is led by Prime Minister of Belarus Mr Mikhail Myasnikovich, BelTA has learnt. The parties signed intergovernmental partnership agreements in the fields of printed press and information, double taxation avoidance and prevention of tax evasion related to income and property (capital) taxes. Cooperation agreements were signed between the education ministries of Belarus and India; a memorandum of understanding in renewable energy was signed between the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of India. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Directorate for Pharmaceutical Industry of Belarus and the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals of India. The administration of the High-Tech Park signed a cooperation agreement with the company Nasscom in the field of information technologies. The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing of India signed a sci-tech cooperation agreement. Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich told reporters that the visit to India was a success, and the agreements reached during the visit were mutually beneficial. In his view, the growing Indian market requires new forms of work and Belarus is ready for that. “We discussed specific projects. We held talks about potash fertilizers and negotiated the price formula in the mid-term perspective,” the Premier said. In ten days Belarus will welcome an Indian delegation to continue discussing the abovementioned matters. According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the parties discussed a possibility of Indian investments into the development of the Petrikov deposit. India and Belarus agreed that the SES member states and India need to sign a free trade zone agreement. Mikhail Myasnikovich is expected to discuss the matter with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in December. Other projects were discussed, too. “India welcomed the idea to set up a joint venture providing maintenance service to BelAZ trucks. BelAZ also signed a $22 million contract to supply its machinery to India,” the Prime Minister informed. The parties discussed cooperation prospects in the leather and footwear industry, including a possibility to set up a joint venture with the leather association in Gatovo. БЕЛТА
