MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – It is extremely important for the state to stop excessively nurturing people. The opinion was voiced by Vice Premier of Belarus Mr Anatoly Tozik at the joint session of the two chambers of the Belarusian parliament on 20 December, BelTA has learned. “To the greatest regret, a large part of the population (I feel particularly sad about working-age people and youngsters) adheres to the illusion that the education, healthcare, utility, culture, sport services and other ones provided by the state are free. Hence the obvious and deep belief that the state has to teach, cure, and provide for the people,” said the Vice Premier. “Every man and woman should absolutely clearly understand their personal responsibility for their own wellbeing and what the state is responsible for”. In his words, the state will always help its citizens but this care should not be abused. “It is necessary to aid those, who truly need this aid,” stressed Anatoly Tozik. He pointed out that “if we don’t join efforts to fight the social dependency disease, it may become a serious threat to the successful development of our country”. БЕЛТА
