MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – A delegation of Austrian businessmen led by President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber Christoph Leitl will pay a visit to Belarus in October. The agreement was reached during a visit of Belarusian businessmen to Austria, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.
Vienna hosted the Austrian-Belarusian Economic Forum and a business matchmaking session organized by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of Belarus in Austria.
Austrian participants of the forum were informed on the prospects of trade and economic cooperation with Belarus, taking into account the country’s membership in the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space, the country’s investment potential and national doing business conditions.
Representatives of Belarusian and Austrian companies and financial organizations discussed production and purchase of meat processing and power equipment, equipment for industrial modernization, construction of a meat works in Belarus with attraction of Austrian investment, export of Belarusian timber and solid fuels to the EU countries, cooperation in securing banking guarantees.
Taking part in the forum was member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agribusiness of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Sidorsky, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Guryanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Austria Valery Voronetsky, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov and Vice President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber Richard Schenz as well as representatives of Austrian and Belarusian government bodies, private companies, commercial and consulting companies, banking and insurance companies that show interest in the development of business between Belarus and Austria.
Belarusian businessmen also visited an international exhibition SMART Automation Austria 2013.
