China’s BUCC might build housing in Belarusian satellite towns

21.01.2014

Beijing Uni-Construction Group Co. Ltd (BUCC) is ready to take part in the construction of residential housing in Belarusian satellite towns, Chairman of the BUCC Board of Directors Zhang Guilin said in response to the suggestion voiced by Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich at a meeting in Beijing on 20 January, BelTA has learnt.“We have made a decision to actively build housing not only in Minsk, but also in the satellite towns. I think BUCC could consider taking part in housing construction projects in one of these satellite towns,” the Belarusian Premier said.According to Zhang Guilin, the company will seriously consider the suggestion, because it is interested in running new projects in Belarus. At present BUCC is involved in the construction of residential housing in the Lebyazhy neighborhood and the Pekin Hotel in Minsk. The Lebyazhy neighborhood project envisages the construction of 180,000 square meters of residential housing using the investment of the Chinese company. The construction of a retail outlet and two residential houses has been completed. Apartments in these houses will soon be available for sale. Another two houses will be delivered soon. The construction of three more houses has been launched. The Pekin Hotel project is also nearing completion. Now the company is doing finishing works in the hotel and landscaping works in the adjacent territory. “Taking into consideration the forthcoming ice hockey world championship, we are set to deliver the facility in April,” Zhang Guilin said.
