Material aid for Belarusian war veterans on the occasion of liberation anniversary

 Veterans of the Great Patriotic War will receive material aid in the run-up to the 70th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders. Decree No. 54 “Concerning one-off material aid” was signed by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on 29 January, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian head of state. “On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders, the material aid will be provided to all veterans of the Great Patriotic War, family members of the military, partisans and members of the underground who died or missed in action during the Great Patriotic War, as well as people who sustained crippling injuries as children during the hostilities or as a result of the aftermath of the war, as well as to former prisoners of the concentration camps, ghettos and prisons set up by the Nazi and their allies during the Second World War,” the press service informed. The Soviet Union Heroes, awardees of the Orders of Glory (three classes), Heroes of Socialist Labor who received the title during the Great Patriotic War will be provided with material aid estimated at Br10 million. Material aid of Br8 million will be provided to people who took part in or were disabled during the Great Patriotic War, people who cleared mines after the country’s liberation from the Nazi invaders in 1943-1945. Material aid of Br3.5 million will be provided to people awarded USSR orders or medals for selfless work and exemplary military service in the rear during the Great Patriotic War, people who worked at rear boundaries of the frontlines and other people who suffered the consequences of the war.
