Belarus approves UN cooperation program on industrial development

The framework cooperation program on industrial development between Belarus and the United Nations Organization for 2013-2017 has been approved in Belarus. The relevant decision is contained in the Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.369 of 18 April 2014, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government. Coordination and control over the implementation of the program, according to the document, will be provided by the Foreign Ministry of Belarus. The resolution also approved six projects of international technical assistance. Among them is the enhancement of efficiency and transparency of the system to manage public finances in the Republic of Belarus, the Eastern-Western European network of higher vocational education, Erasmus Mundus academic network, development of technical cooperation on nuclear security in assisting regulatory bodies, special assistance to the control over ASF outbreaks in the Republic of Belarus and protection of the environment of international river basins. The approval of the abovementioned programs is based on the proposals of the commission on international technical cooperation under the Council of Ministers of Belarus. The document also envisages and coordination and control over the implementation of the project related to the enhancement of efficiency and transparency of the system to manage public finances in the Republic of Belarus will be provided by the Finance Ministry. The Education Ministry will implement the projects regarding the Eastern-Western European network of higher vocational education and the Erasmus Mundus academic network. The project on the development of technical cooperation on nuclear security in assisting regulatory bodies will be fulfilled by the Emergencies Ministry. The Agriculture and Food Ministry will be in charge of the implementation of the special assistance to the control over ASF outbreaks in the Republic of Belarus. The implementation of the project on the protection of the environment of international river basins will be under the control of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The resolution takes effect on the day of its adoption.
