The 18th St. Petersburg international economic forum will take place in St. Petersburg, the Russian Federation on 22-24 May. The Belarusian delegation led by First Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko will comprise representatives of the Economy Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the Foreign Ministry. Experts from Belarus will take part in a plenary session of the forum which main idea is confidence building in the age of transformations. The program of the visit envisages a number of bilateral meetings with members of the Russian government, heads of big banks and the participation in the work of the forum's sections. According to Vladimir Semashko, on 23 May he is expected to meet with Russian Vice Premier Arkady Dvorkovich to discuss the MAZ-KamAZ merger. According to Vladimir Semashko, it is hard to set up such an organization since Belarus and Russia have legislative differences. He also added that the merger had been discussed by a special working group. The parties have not yet come to any agreement.
