Bambiza: Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan will develop joint agricultural programs

04.06.2014

Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan will start to develop joint agricultural programs, Deputy State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Ivan Bambiza told a press conference, BelTA has learned. As the Eurasian Economic Union starts operating in full force, which is 2015, Kazakhstan will be able to join the existing programs of the Union State. In the future, the three countries will develop the joint programs, said Ivan Bambiza. Such cooperation will help solve problems of import substitution and ensure the food security of the three countries. The experience of Union State indicates that there is an urgent need to integrate the agricultural complexes, said Ivan Bambiza. As an example, he mentioned the situation with import of dairy products. "Belarus and Russia import about 10 million tonnes. In total, Russia imports about 25% of its dairy demand for about $ 4 billion. We need to make sure that the production in Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan should be growing to meet the needs of the domestic market,” said Ivan Bambiza.
