Belarus and Spain have agreed to develop the legal framework of the bilateral cooperation aimed at the creation of conditions for boosting trade, economic and investment ties between the two countries, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in France with concurrent accreditation in Spain. Economy Minister of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov met with Secretary of State for Trade of the Economy Ministry of Spain Jaime Garcia-Legas on 12 June. The parties emphasized the importance of intensifying the bilateral trade and economic relations which are still far from the Belarusian-Spanish full potential. The sides discussed the relevant steps in the area. Spain confirmed its readiness to look into the ways of setting up a Belarusian-Spanish trade and economic commission. The parties agreed on a visit of a delegation of Spanish businessmen to Belarus. On 13 June Barcelona is set to host a presentation of the trade, economic and investment cooperation opportunities between Belarus and Spain. Attending the event will be over 40 Spanish companies. At the meeting with the Belarusian delegation on 12 June Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo expressed the interest of his country in developing relations with Belarus. Partaking in the talks was Economy Minister of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France with concurrent accreditation in Spain Pavel Latushko and Deputy Finance Minister of Belarus Maksim Yermolovich. Pavel Latushko updated the Spanish minister on the forthcoming Days of Belarusian Culture in Spain. The Days will feature the tour of the Belarusian ballet, the Days of the Belarusian Cinema, exhibitions and other cultural events. The Days of the Belarusian Culture will promote the creation of a positive atmosphere in the all-round relations between Belarus and Spain.
