Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei begins an official visit to the Republic of Cuba begins on 24 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. During the visit the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry is scheduled to meet with the Cuban leadership to discuss topical issues of cooperation in the international arena, the ways to expand trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation, and the use of new tools to stimulate bilateral trade. The parties are expected to touch upon such topics as the use of export credit and insurance mechanisms with the participation of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus and Eximgarant of Belarus, the increase of deliveries of MAZ and MTZ equipment, supply of Belagromash vehicles and Mogilevliftmash elevators to Cuba, restoration of the machine-tool fleet of Cuba with the participation of Belarusian companies. The parties will share the views on the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of biotechnology, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. Vladimir Makei will also get acquainted with the work of the center for genetic engineering and biotechnology.
