Business opportunities in Belarus will be presented in Paris on 17 October, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France, Spain and Portugal (on concurrent) Pavel Latushko has told BelTA. “The presentation of Belarus in Paris is scheduled for 17 October this year. The event will take place upon the agreement with the Paris Ile-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The companies making part of the chamber generate 20% of the country's GDP,” the diplomat noted. The Belarusian delegation will include the administration of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and representatives of the Foreign Ministry. “We have plans to tell French companies based in Paris and Ile-de-France about cooperation opportunities in Belarus and potential investment projects. We hope that this presentation will result in the visit of French businessmen to Belarus,” Pavel Latushko said. He informed that a series of presentations in other French regions is to be held in 2014. Among them is a presentation in Toulouse in September and in Rennes in November. Pavel Latushko emphasized that the Belarusian Embassy in France arranges numerous events aimed at presenting potential cooperation projects in trade, economy and investments that might be run by Belarus jointly with France and Spain. Over the past 1.5 years the embassy held nine events of this kind in France's major cities and Spain's Madrid and Barcelona. “These presentations were attended by representatives of over 400 French and Spanish companies. This demonstrates a pretty big interest of French and Spanish businessmen in running cooperation projects with our country. These nine presentations have already translated into several visits of French and Spanish business delegations to Belarus and talks with Belarusian companies, ministries and agencies,” the Belarusian Ambassador informed.
