OAO Planar intends to create a new model of assembly equipment for manufacturing microelectronics, representatives of the Belarusian Industry Ministry told BelTA. In July 2014 a delegation of the Second Research Institute of the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and the North University of China visited the Belarusian enterprise. The sides discussed prospects of cooperation in implementing joint projects. As a result of the visit a memorandum of cooperation between the Belarusian company and the Second Research Institute in implementing the project to create a new model of assembly equipment was signed. Planar's representatives remarked: “We are making up our minds regarding further actions. Now we have to fill the memorandum with concrete content”. OAO Planar intends to sign a contract with the partners from China by autumn. The history of the Belarusian company OAO Planar dates back to November 1962. At present the company represents a complex of enterprises that rely on modern technologies and a synergy of science and technology in various fields of knowledge to design and make complicated optical, mechanical, measuring, controlling, and assembling equipment for the microelectronics industry.
