Belarus to increase food supplies to Russia 1.5 times in August-December

18.08.2014

Belarus plans to increase food supplies to Russia 1.5 times in August-December 2014, Belarusian Premier Mikhail Myasnikovich told media during his working trip to Mogilev Oblast on 15 August, BelTA has learned. According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, in money terms the volumes of food sales to the Russian market will increase 1.5 times as compared to August-December last year. The main exports to Russia will include dairy products, butter, cheese, skimmed milk powder and a number of other commodities. The PM stressed that it would not affect the domestic market negatively. “I have looked through all possible balances. Additional food supplies to Russia will be secured by increased production at processing companies. Thus, the domestic market will remain a priority and Belarusian producers will have an opportunity to earn on the Russian market,” he said. According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, food exports to the Russian market in August-December 2014 will bring Belarus $200-300 million.
