Belarus, Hungary eager to remove administrative barriers to secure higher trade

08.10.2014

Belarus and Hungary will put efforts into removing administrative barriers for the sake of increasing the trade turnover, BelTA learned from State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Laszlo Szabo before the Belarusian-Hungarian business forum in Minsk on 8 October.
“The purpose of our visit is to remove administrative barriers that may impede economic relations. Apart from that, we are discussing forms of financial support for export and import operations between our countries,” noted Laszlo Szabo.
In his words, Belarusian-Hungarian trade relations are developing intensively right now. “If we compare H1 2013 with H1 2014, we can see a 30% increase. We are interested in all the opportunities for cooperation between our countries,” stressed Laszlo Szabo.
In turn, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich stated that active business cooperation between Belarus and Hungary has been registered for the last two years. “A Belarusian-Hungarian business forum took place in Budapest last year. I would like to mention strong interest: representatives of about 100 Hungarian companies turned up for the forum,” he said.
In his words, the export of Belarusian products to Hungary has been steadily rising over the last few years, however, the trade process needs balancing. “We have very serious prospects primarily in the area of manufacturing cooperation. We are interested in the development of full-scale cooperation in many spheres such as civil engineering, pharmaceutics, and mechanical engineering,” noted Vladimir Ulakhovich.
A Belarusian-Hungarian business forum and a business matchmaking session for representatives of the business communities of the two countries took place in the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Minsk on 8 October at the time of 5th session of the Belarusian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
