Russia lifts ban on importing products of Kalinkovichi Meat Processing Plant

Russia will lift a ban on the supplies of products made by Kalinkovichi Meat Processing Plant. The information was posted on the website of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor), BelTA has learned.
The removal of the ban was formalized in the protocol signed at the meeting of Vice Premier of Belarus Mikhail Rusy with Rosselkhoznadzor chief Sergei Dankvert that was held in Moscow on 4 December.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the participants of the meeting discussed the efforts of Belarus and Russia to settle the situation with the supplies of Belarusian products to Russia. The veterinary services of the two countries decided to conduct joint inspections of Belarusian companies that were included in the import ban list. The inspections will start on 9 December. The companies in question are Babushkina Krynka, Agrokombinat Dzerzhinsky, Smolevichi Broiler, Servolux and its branch Servolux Agro, Rogachev Milk Canning Plant, the meat processing plants of Vitebsk and Brest, Veles Meat, Belovezhskie Delikatesy, Inco-Food.
The parties agreed to dispatch Russian specialists to Belarusian veterinary laboratories to check Belarusian products.
Belarus undertook to provide information about the findings of the investigation and the measures taken in respect of five companies: meat processing plants of Gomel and Zhlobin, Vitebsk Poultry Farm, Rassvet Poultry Farm.
“Mikhail Rusy noted that he is ready to personally supervise the efforts to resolve the situation and will provide assistance in conducting the necessary inspections of Belarusian processing companies and specialized laboratories. Besides, with a view to minimizing food safety risks, it is necessary to unify control and supervision regulations on the territory of the entire Customs Union.
