Belarus, Moldova to strengthen cooperation, continue infrastructure projects

Belarus and Moldova seek closer bilateral cooperation and continuation of joint infrastructure projects. According to the press service of the Moldavian government, the matter was discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister of Moldova Valeriu Strelet and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Moldova Sergei Chichuk, BelTA informs. The parties discussed bilateral relations and noted that the dialogue between Belarus and Moldova had recently intensified. The sides talked over investment projects implemented in Moldova in partnership with Belarus in such areas as modernization of the industrial agricultural fleet, assembling of trolleybuses and sales of construction materials. According to Valeriu Strelet, the government backs the continuation of infrastructure projects, advancement of Moldavian goods onto the Belarusian market and the attraction of new investment in the economy. Sergei Chichuk passed greetings from Belarus' Premier Andrei Kobyakov regarding Valeriu Strelet's appointment as Prime Minister of Moldova. The Belarusian Premier spoke in favor of closer cooperation and friendship between the two countries. The Ambassador of Belarus to Moldova confirmed Belarus' interest in developing trade and economic cooperation with Moldova. Moldova and Belarus established diplomatic relations on 19 November 1992.
