China-Belarus Industrial Park viewed as important part of Silk Road Economic Belt

18.09.2015

The Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park plays an important role in the development of the Silk Road Economic Belt project, Governor of Gansu Province Liu Weiping said at the ground breaking ceremony for the first manufacturing facility at the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park on 18 September. The construction project will be implemented by Juxin Malt Technology, BelTA has learned. Liu Weiping emphasized the importance of the fact that Chinese investors from Gansu would be the first to build an enterprise in the park. Juxin Malt Technology has become the eighth resident company of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone. In a year there will be a new malt processing plant in Belarus. The plant's output will be exported to China and other countries. The plant will use imported raw materials only. The construction will be carried out in two stages. Each stage envisages the construction of capacities of up to 150,000 tonnes of product a year. The Governor of Gansu Province stated that the project will be implemented thanks to the Belarusian-Chinese agreements at the highest level. “Belarus and China are reliable partners whose political cooperation has been steadily strengthening, whose economic contacts have been gradually expanding,” said Liu Weiping. He stressed that malt production is a concrete project that makes part of the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative. Chinese investors have promised to develop the associated infrastructure as well. Gansu has a more than 2,200-year history. The province lies in the northwest of China, some 200km away from Xian. The ancient Silk Road route covered over 1,600km of the province. The new project will also be crossing Gansu.
