The Belarusian Council of Ministers approved the plan of action for
the 2019 European Games in Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service
of the Belarusian government.
“The national organizing committee for the 2019 European Games in
Belarus was held on 24 March. It was chaired by Prime Minister Andrei
Kobyakov. The meeting approved the plan of action on the organization of
the European Games,” the press service said.
The Council of Ministers discussed the draft contracts on the
European Games, the European Games sports program, the status of
construction and reconstruction of sports facilities. The meeting also
considered venues for the media center.
Belarus was chosen to host the Second European Games in 2019 after a
vote at the 45th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees in
Minsk in October 2016.
The First European Games were held in Azerbaijan on 12-28 June 2015.
Belarus placed 7th with a total of 43 (10 gold, 11 silver and 22 bronze)
medals.
