Revised decree on social dependency forwarded to Belarus president

03.10.2017

The Council of Ministers has forwarded the revised decree on preventing social dependency to the head of state, BelTA learned from Vladislav Sychevich, Press Secretary of the Prime Minister of Belarus.
According to the source, the presidential decree on social dependency has been adjusted, polished and forwarded for consideration of the head of state.
BelTA reported earlier that on 3 August Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko heard out a report on the demographic situation and efforts to help Belarusians find jobs. Back then the head of state gave instructions to review the decree on social dependency by 1 October. “People need to know that decree No.3 is here to stay. Decree No.3 targets 300,000 people, who should work but won't. We should make them work. It's what our ideology is all about. There is no need to hide something from the people in this respect,” said Alexander Lukashenko. Speaking about the revised document, Alexander Lukashenko stressed: “Municipal government agencies, who directly oversee the labor market and see every person, should have all the authority, all the levers to influence these people in order to resolve the problem.”
