No complaints from Russian food quality watchdog about Belarusian companies so far

26.10.2017

No complaints have been lodged by representatives of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) during the ongoing inspection, BelTA learned from Aleksei Bogdanov, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, before the second international export forum Meat Belarus opened on 25 October.
The official said: “We work closely with Rosselkhoznadzor representatives in every field, including vegetable products. A regular inspection team has arrived in Belarus. They have been working for several days now. We've heard no complaints so far.”
Aleksei Bogdanov remarked that the Belarusian side keeps in touch with Rosselkhoznadzor on a daily basis. “All the measures taken by the Belarusian side are taken into account. We have reached a certain consensus and keep working in order to fix the shortcomings we do have and address the complaints that are present. They are not often justified. If some are justified, we fix our shortcomings and authorize companies to export to Russia as usual. Various approaches to veterinary oversight are practiced. We may or may not agree with them. Now we try to work out common approaches to the matter via the Eurasian Economic Commission and try to lift all the restrictions from our meat and dairy exports,” noted the official.
