Belarus-Russia oil dispute fully settled

21.12.2017

Belarus and Russia have resolved all the issues with oil supplies, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said at a joint session of the Belarusian parliament on 20 December, BelTA has learned.

“The negotiations on oil and gas issues were tough and took about a year and a half. We were engaged in the talks virtually throughout 2016 and in early 2017. We have sorted out all the issues with oil supplies. Russia has provided a guarantee that it will supply 24 million tonnes of oil a year, give or take 2%, which is about 480,000 out of 24 million tonnes,” Vladimir Semashko remarked.

In his words, Belarus has settled the issues with the mandatory delivery of gasoline to Russia, which was not advantageous for Belarus.

“We have worked out all oil-related issues. The Belarusian oil refineries will operate at full capacity,” the deputy PM summarized.
