Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Great Britain, the head of the diplomatic service, Simon MacDonald, visits Minsk on October 1 as part of the regional tour. BelTA was informed in the British Embassy in Belarus. Simon MacDonald’s visit continues a series of bilateral meetings and visits, including visits by the British Foreign Secretary Alan Duncan to Belarus in September 2017 and to Belarus’s Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei in the United Kingdom in March 2018. In the Belarusian capital, Simon MacDonald will meet with Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Oleg Kravchenko and Finance Minister Maxim Yermolovich. He will also hold meetings with graduates of British universities. The embassy believes that the visit of the permanent secretary will strengthen relations between Great Britain and Belarus and explore ways of bilateral cooperation, including through the development of trade ties.
