Belarusian government action program for 2018-2020 approved

The program to guide actions of the Belarusian government in 2018-2020 has been approved by the Council of Ministers' resolution No.774 of 31 October 2018, BelTA has learned.
The document is compliant with priorities, goals, and tasks stipulated by Belarus' social and economic development program for 2016-2020. It also includes tasks set by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in his address to the nation and the parliament on 24 April 2018.
The program covers the main spheres of economy and social relations. It contains key avenues of work in the area of social and economic development. The program specifies tasks for heads of government agencies. It suggests measures and procedures for fulfilling the tasks. The document also specifies indicators to evaluate how well the tasks have been accomplished.
The program's implementation is expected to ensure a quality end to the current five-year term in addition to enabling conditions for the dynamic social and economic development of Belarus in 2021-2025 and in the long term. The program's implementation is also expected to lay the foundation for raising the gross domestic product up to at least $100 billion by 2025 in addition to raising living standards of Belarusian citizens.
The Belarusian government action program comes into force as of the adoption date. It was presented at a session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 31 October.
