Lukashenko against setting up new structures to fix agriculture problems in Vitebsk Oblast

22.11.2019
New structures in agriculture should not be established solely for the sake of getting a gulp of fresh air.
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement during the government conference held in Vitebsk on 22 November to discuss the development of agriculture in the region, BelTA has learned. One of the proposals put forward during the meeting suggests setting up a massive holding company in Vitebsk Oblast in order to fix problems in agriculture. The head of state stressed: “We have to evaluate reasons behind the idea. If you want to do it only to get a gulp of fresh air, you will run out of air one year later. If god forbid you have the same president, you will have no air left because I will send you all to prison. This is why don't lie. Tell me what the problem is. I can see your problem: mismanagement and lack of organization. Disgusting. One cannot work like that.” The head of state said: “No superstructures. As for debts… Even if we delay them, every year you will have to earn money with your sweat and blood and report some growth. It applies to Mogilev Oblast, Gomel Oblast, and the other ones. There will be no more easy money.”
