Karayev: Attempt to change government through protests will result in major setback for Belarus

07.09.2020

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) – The attempt to change the government using street actions will throw Belarus many decades back, Minister of Internal Affairs Yuri Karayev told the STV TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“The attempt to change the government in the street is very bad for any nation. It throws a nation 15-20 years back. Any revolution is followed by havoc, hunger, banditry, and pillage. No one can benefit from it except for those who ordered it to happen. I can give just one advice - to read books instead of Telegram channels. The humankind went through all this many times in the past and in their contemporary history. People should read what a revolution can lead to and how the society should develop in the evolutionary way, through constitutional amendments and economic reforms,” Yuri Karayev said.
