Pensioners in Belarus will be provided with a 50% discount on travel on regional economy class trains from 1 May, the Belarusian Railways press centre told BELTA.
Citizens will be able to use this opportunity until 31 October during the period of seasonal agricultural work. This is provided for by the Presidential Decree of 29 April 2011 No. 176 «On state support for pensioners».
To purchase a travel document (ticket) with a discount, you must present the original pension certificate. You must also have it with you during the trip.
The Belarusian Railways noted that the discount does not apply to travel on regional business class trains and interregional lines (with numbered seats), as well as on city trains.
Pensioners by age can obtain discounted travel documents at ticket offices, as well as on the Belarusian Railways website using the mobile application «BC. My Train» and through self-service terminals.
