Changes have been made to the rules for the improvement and maintenance of populated areas. This is envisaged by Resolution No. 267 of the Council of Ministers of 16 May 2025, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities.
The resolution was developed in order to unite the efforts of the state, organizations of all forms of ownership and citizens to restore order on the land, improve the environment, and create the aesthetics of populated areas throughout the country.
The resolution amends the rules for the improvement and maintenance of populated areas, providing for the specification of requirements for ensuring the proper maintenance of public lands, as well as a land plot provided for the maintenance of single-family, block residential buildings, territories assigned to citizens and business entities.
For individual development areas and areas assigned to individuals and business entities, the following are established: the obligation to maintain buildings, structures, outbuildings and fences in good technical condition, the obligation to keep building materials on the land plot in a folded state and the need to mow lawns when the grass height is more than 20 cm, clean areas from construction and accidental waste, and remove dry vegetation.
The planting boundaries of trees and shrubs are also regulated in relation to adjacent land plots.
With regard to public lands, in the event of a vehicle being parked on adjacent areas, individuals and legal entities are required to ensure timely removal of snow from the area at a distance of at least 1 m from the abandoned vehicle. The functions of specialized landscaping organizations are also supplemented and plans for identifying and eliminating dry vegetation formation sites are to be approved by local executive and administrative bodies.
