On June 6, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko left for St. Petersburg to participate in an informal session of the CIS Heads of State.
The presidents are expected to share opinions regarding the draft strategy of the CIS economic development till 2020, the cooperation in transport and energy areas, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian President. The heads of state of the CIS member states will be proposed to discuss the issues concerning the humanitarian problems, the development of the Commonwealth.
This is the second informal session of the CIS Heads of State in 2008. The presidents of all the CIS member states attended the informal CIS summit in Moscow on February 22. Then, the leaders of the Commonwealth discussed the migration policy and the trade and economic cooperation.
The first informal CIS summit was held in Yalta (Ukraine) on August 18, 2000. The summits of this kind do not include a special agenda.
