More than 120 companies from ten countries worldwide will take part in the 2nd international specialized exhibition Transport and Logistics 2008 which will be held in Minsk on October 7-10. Within the framework of the exhibition, Minsk will also host the 2nd Belarusian Transport Congress on October 8-9, BelTA learnt from forum’s organizers ZAO Technology and Communications. The exhibition will feature all the kinds of up-to-date transport and logistics systems and equipment for them, transportation services, information and service systems for transport. The forum will promote the further development of the transport infrastructure of Belarus. It will strengthen the image of Belarus as a transit country. Attending the exhibition will be companies from Belarus, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Italy. The exhibition will occupy 5 thousand square meters. Such famous companies as IVECO, MAN, ROLFO, Schmitz Cargobull, Jungheinrich, Still, Balkancar, MAZ, KRAZ, KAVZ, MAZ-MAN, MZKT, PAZ, GolAZ and others will be displayed together for the first time. Five companies will present equipment for vehicle satellite navigation. Customs services and terminals, equipment for cargo-handling operations, warehouses and terminals will be presented at the exhibition as well. The main goal of the Belarusian Transport Congress is to discuss the economic, legal, organizational and research problems of the Belarusian transport and logistics systems development and its integration in the logistics chain of supplies Western Europe - China. Participants of a plenary session of the congress, various sections and roundtables are expected to analyze the possibilities and problems of transportation by means of ground vehicles, to identify the most promising avenues of the transport and logistics system development taking into account the international experience. Attending the congress will be representatives of UNECE–the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the International Transport Forum, IRU – the International Road Transport Union, the EurAsEC Integration Commission, other international organizations and also transport ministries of other countries. Moreover, representatives of the Volga Region Logistics Association, the Guild of Logistics Operators of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, EUROLAT UNION Organization of the Higher Economic School of Latvia, the Russian Federal Service for Transport Supervision and other organizations were invited to participate in the congress.
