MINSK, June 16 (BelTA) – Along with trading German businessmen are ready to make investments into the Belarusian economy, said Bernd Pfaffenbach, State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, as he met with the President of Belarus on June 16. “Even during the previous, harder times we understood our role of a bridge between Belarus and the European Union,” stressed the German official. He noted that Germany welcomes the steps Belarus has taken to liberalise the economy. According to the State Secretary, held on June 16, the session of the Belarusian-German Council for Economic Cooperation demonstrated common understanding of many problems as well as major progress in the bilateral relations. “If normal framework conditions are created and we have a feeling that Belarus is eager to do that, we will truly be able to come to implementing important concrete projects,” said Bernd Pfaffenbach. In his opinion, despite the high level of the Belarusian-German trade turnover the potential to tap is still huge. БЕЛТА
