BREST, 18 February (BelTA) – Modern challenges and threats will be taken into account by the border services of Belarus and Russia in ensuring the Union State security, said Vladimir Pronichev, head of the Border Guard Service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, at a regular session of the board of the Union State Border Committee in Brest. The new program of interaction is designed for 2012-2016. Its concept is expected to be thoroughly worked out in 2010 and submitted to the Union State in 2011. The new program will take into account the modern challenges and threats. Previously, the main efforts went into the prevention of military threat, nowadays these threats have transformed and became transboundary perils, said Vladimir Pronichev. These threats include drugs and human trafficking and illegal migration. The international crime is well-organized, so the countermeasures should be well-coordinated too. БЕЛТА
