MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – A national school of journalism has been developed in Belarus, First Deputy Information Minister of Belarus Liliya Ananich told a press conference timed to the 5th Belarusian international media forum, Partnership for the sake of the Future. “A national school of journalism has been formed in Belarus. Today we have a full-fledged national information space,” Liliya Ananich said. In her words, today there are nearly 1,500 media outlets in Belarus. “Today we have competition in all the segments, both in the printed matter and electronic media. There are five national TV channels, Belarus TV satellite channel,” said Liliya Ananich and added that the Internet has now become an important component of the media scene. Liliya Ananich believes that the information field has one peculiarity that means constant development and progress. As for the national journalistic education, the First Deputy Minister noted that the representatives of the International Federation of Journalists were right to choose the BSU Institute of Journalism as a place for conducting summer schools of journalism. The members of the Federation praised the level of the Belarusian Institute in the terms of its equipment and academic activity. “We have our national education school and good personnel potential,” Liliya Ananich added.
