MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Belarusian agricultural companies have already harvested over 6 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry. As of 9 August, there were threshed 6,173,900 grain, with the average yield of 30.2 centners per hectare. The highest crop yield was registered in Grodno Oblast – 41.9 centners per hectare. Minsk Oblast leads the harvesting campaign in the country having threshed 1,509,200 tonnes of grain. It is followed by Grodno Oblast (1,114,900 tonnes), Mogilev Oblast (1,030,100 tonnes), Brest Oblast (1,014,300 tonnes), Vitebsk Oblast (763,900 tonnes) and Gomel Oblast (741,500 tonnes). As of today, around 2,057,000 hectares under grain and leguminous crops (or 84.4% of the total area) have been already cropped. Companies of Mogilev Oblast have already harvested 92% of the areas under crops.
