MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – The National Day of Belarus at the 23rd Moscow international book fair will take place on 2 September, the Information Ministry of Belarus told BelTA. Belarus will be an honorary guest at the 23rd Moscow book fair. The opening ceremony of the Belarusian exposition will take place on 1 September. The national exposition will occupy an area of 320 square meters. The expo will feature the products of more than 40 leading publishing houses and printeries of the country. Among them will be the National Book Chamber, the National Library, the National Institute of Education, the Union of Belarusian Writers. The presentation of the National Library of Belarus, the book heritage keeper, will highlight the first exhibition day. Besides, the Russian State Library will be given a certificate for the best Belarusian publications. According to the Information Ministry, another important event of the program is the presentation of the national exposition of Belarus on 2 September. The presentation will be held at an open-air ground with the participation of the Belarusian well-known artists. On the same day Information Minister of Belarus Oleg Proleskovsky is expected to give a briefing to highlight the development prospects of the publishing and printing industry of Belarus. The National Book Chamber and the Russian Book Chamber are supposed to sign an agreement on information cooperation. The National Day of Belarus will include a literature and music composition marking the 65th anniversary of Great Victory, a presentation of facsimile editions of the Belarusian exarchate Slutsk Gospel. The program of the Day will also include soirees with writer, Chairman of the Union of Belarusian Writers Nikolai Cherginets, a presentation of Natalia Golubeva’s books, projects of the publishing house Belarusian Encyclopedia named after Petrus Brovka, and many more.
