MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – A joint Belarusian-Chinese center to foster the development of cooperation in education, culture, economy and science will be set up in the near future. This is one of the major issues of the cooperation program between the higher educational establishments of the Republic of Belarus and Dalian University of Technology of the People’s Republic of China for 2011-2015. The program was signed by Education Minister of Belarus Alexander Radkov and Rector of the Chinese university Ou Jinping in Minsk on 27 September. According to Alexander Radkov, “the document is diverse”. The program includes the exchange of students, postgraduates, doctoral candidates for studies, on-the-job training and joint research. Among the projects envisaged in the program is the creation of a joint innovation center at Dalian University of Technology and Belarusian State University. The two sides are set to define themes for scientific research within the next two or three years, organize translation training and enhancement of the qualifications of the academic staff of the universities, hold the Days of Dalian University of Technology at the Belarusian establishments of higher education and the Days of the Belarusian establishments of higher education at Dalian University of Technology. The Belarusian minister stressed that cooperation with China in education is also based on the agreement of mutual acknowledgement of the educational documents. The meeting also highlighted the issues of the quality of the basic education and training of highly-qualified scientific personnel. A delegation of Dalian University of Technology paid a visit to the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the Belarus President. БЕЛТА
