MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will hold a session to discuss the efficiency of interaction between the authorities and citizens on 9 November, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service. Every year, about 1 million people or virtually every tenth Belarusian apply to government bodies across a wide range of issues, mainly social services and the work of courts and law enforcement bodies. The leading cause of discontent is the work of housing and communal services, like inadequate current and capital repairs (39%), water supply (35%), area development (16%) and other issues. Over 80% of people point out to irresponsibility and slackness of housing and utility workers. The number of complaints related to housing construction is growing from year to year. In January-September 2010, over 25,000 such complaints were received. Belarusians are displeased with land management, in particular, in big towns and suburbs, taking into consideration the high cost of land plots and inadequate social protection of people. Healthcare services are another matter of serious concern. In 2010 alone, over 25,000 complaints were submitted to the ministry and other healthcare organizations. Violations in the fields of education, transport, communications, trade and public services are persistent. These complaints account for about 10% of the complaints. Some of the complaints deal with the work of law enforcement bodies and courts. People disagree with court rulings on legal, civil, economic and administrative cases. БЕЛТА
